Husband of Kate Peru Suther. He was a carpenter and builder by trade. He grew up in the Coldwater Community of Cabarrus County but moved his family north of the Yadkin River to the Boone Cave area of Davidson County.
He was the son of Michael Scott.
Together they had eight children: Hubert B. Scott, Maude May Scott Brafford, Willie Wadsworth Scott, Laura Ann Scott Barbee Kennon, Lillian Jane Scott Peurifoy, Kate Smoot Scott, Margaret Lucy Scott. (bio by Dr. Robert Peurifoy)
