PRICE--John Lee Welch, age 65, passed away Friday June 4, 1999 at his home in Price. He was born May 23, 1934 in Watts, Oklahoma to Maynard and Edith Thomas. John was an underground miner for forty years. His greatest loves were his children, grandkids and the outdoors. He will be dearly missed by those who knew him and loved him.
John is survived by his wife, Linda Ann Welch; children, Nona Howard, Tony and Kerry Welch, Jennifer and Adam Pilling, Scott and Sonja Hathaway, Stephanie and Mike Bellm, Shaun and Frankie Hathaway, Robin and Brent Bray, Sharon and Curtis Marvin; siblings, Loy and Thelma Thomas, Lois and Fred Hamilton, Twyla and Paul McCoy, Harold and Katherine Thomas, Norman and Linda Thomas, Larry and Jackie Thomas, Cova and Charles Williams, Norma Jean and Clifford Barker; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James and Mickey Thomas; and a sister, Arvelene Bryant. Funeral service Tuesday June 8, 1999 11 a.m. Mitchell Chapel. Family will be at Mitchell's Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday one hour prior to services. Interment: Cliffview Cemetery, Price.
