Rosalie worked in the housekeeping department at the Best Western “Mermaid” Motel in Yarmouth. She was a member of both the Indian Sluice Senior’s Club and the SAR New Horizons. In her spare time she enjoyed knitting, making puzzles and helping her brother bring in the wood for winter.
She will be remembered as a kind and generous woman who was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. She loved kids and also enjoyed driving people to Yarmouth for appointments, making up to five or six trips a day.
Aside from her mother, Elsie, she is also survived by her siblings, Eugene Amirault, Myra (Raymond) Amirault, Robert Amirault, all of Amirault’s Hill, and Henry Amirault, Yarmouth, as well as by several aunts and uncles; nieces, Colette Doucette and Nikki LeBlanc; great nieces, Hailey, Jacqueline and Fallon, as well as by her companion, Alphonse LeBlanc and her best friend, Bonnie Hubbard.
Visitation will take place from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, with prayers at 8 p.m., both at H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert St., Yarmouth. The funeral mass will be held Wednesday, November 19 at 11 a.m. from Holy Family Church in Amirault’s Hill, Father Maurice LeBlanc, CJM, officiating. Interment will take place in the parish cemetery.
