Mr. Jerry Billy Cheatwood, age 78, of Carrollton, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Tanner Medical Center Carrollton. He was born May 24, 1938 in Haralson County, Georgia, the son of the late David Wilson Cheatwood and the late Thelma Dentmon Cheatwood. He was self-employed business professional for over forty years and was Baptist by faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Cheatwood Brauninger; brothers: B. F. Cheatwood and Kenneth Cheatwood; and a sister, Dianne Cheatwood Dorminey. Survivors include his wife, Doris Rooks Cheatwood of Carrollton; daughter and son-in-law, Sherry & Tony Todd of Carrollton; brothers and sister-in-law: Waymond & Ann Cheatwood of Carrollton, and David Cheatwood of Polk County; two grandchildren: Tee & Sheel Todd and Tyler Todd; and one great grandchild, Niam Todd. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, November 4, 2016 at 2:00 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Pastor Lee Wimberley officiating. Those serving as pallbearers will be Jimmy Cheatwood, Stevie Cheatwood, Shannon Cheatwood, Scott Thompson, Jim Dorminey and Buddy Rooks. Interment will follow in Carroll Memory Gardens.
