Kaye Mortensen Hyer, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend returned home to the loving arms of Heavenly Father on October 31, 2016 after a short, but devastating battle with pneumonia.
Kaye was born April 25, 1942 in View, ID and grew up in Charlo, MT then finished her high school years in Quincy, WA. Kaye graduated from Quincy High in 1960. She was the 7th child of Arania Marie Kidd Mortensen and Robert Benjamin Mortensen. Kaye married Paul Dennis Hyer in the Logan Temple on August 2, 1961.
Kaye was a homemaker extraordinaire. She had a passion for gardening, baking and trying new recipes. She also enjoyed learning about decorating her home. Most of all, she loved her family. Kaye devoted her life and energy to serving her family, friends, and church.
She is survived by her husband Paul, her sons Todd (Joy), Troy (Pam), Shane (Shari), Jay (Trisha) and daughter Tammy (Dale), 25 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, brother Dee, and sister Beth Allred.
A viewing will be held Sunday November 6th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley 1007 W. South Jordan Pkwy (10600 S.) in South Jordan. Funeral services will be held at the Hamilton Ridge ward building at 13680 S. 5562 W. (5600 W) Herriman on Monday November 7th at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing prior to the service from 9:30-10:30.
