Adam U. Schmoyer Sr., 79, of 16 E. Main St., Macungie, died Saturday in the Allentown and Sacred Heart Hospital Center. He was the husband of Emma (Lorish) Schmoyer. The couple observed their 58th wedding anniversary in April. He was a molder in the Macungie foundry for Tyler Pipe Industries for 25 years before retiring in 1968. Born in East Texas, he was a son of the late Llewellyn and Alice (Haas) Schmoyer. Surviving with his widow are seven daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth A. Engleman, Betty J., wife of Willard Christman, Faye L., wife of John Hartzell, and Grace E., wife of Ray Helfrich, all of Macungie, Eileen C., wife of Alfred Dice of Quakertown, Linda L., wife of David Trumbauer of Wescosville and Mae L., wife of Kenneth Eisenhard of Trexlertown; two sons, Franklin J. Sr. and Arthur S., both of Macungie; two sisters, Mrs. Esther Behm of Topton and Dorothy, wife of Arthur Gantz of Allentown; 40 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm St., Emmaus. A calling hour will precede the services.
