KELLER -- Donald D. Fortenberry, 78, a retired construction foreman, passed away Sunday, Aug. 29, 2004, at a Keller care center.

Funeral: 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in Mount Olivet Chapel. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home.

Memorials: Alzheimer's Association.

Donald was born Feb. 5, 1926 in Hollis, Okla. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was in the Iwo Jima Survivors Association for many years and was in charge of their memorabilia room. Donald was a charter member of North Richland Hills Baptist Church and served as deacon for many years.

Survivors: Daughters, Donna Roberson of Fort Worth, Sharon Crawford and husband, Eddie, of Justin, Janet Lovell and husband, Jerry, of Lake Worth, Lou Anne Barber and husband, Steve, of Fort Worth; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Colleen Mayfield and Sue Busby; brother, Chuck Fortenberry; and a host of other loving family members and friends.
