Hw was the son of James Ely and Bertha Emaline (Woods) Shepherd. He married Betty Jane Clark on January 18, 1943. They have lived their entire married life of almost 64 years in Shopiere. Bill loved old time country music. He played guitar, violin, and most any string instrument. When he came to Wisconsin he worked for his uncle in silo repair. He then worked at Yates American in the radiator department for 30 plus years. When his department was sold he opened his own radiator repair shop in Shopiere, retiring in 1986. Bill and Betty spent the first 14 years of retirement enjoying life with family and traveling. They also enjoyed many years watching their grandchildren and great-grandchildren playing baseball and football. Then his sickness ended all of that. He spent the last six and half years of his life in bed. He is survived by his wife, Betty; 2 daughters, Janice Eileen Rusch and Karen Louise Campbell and favorite son-in-law, Steve Campbell; 4 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers: Wallace, John, and Gene Shepherd; and 3 sisters Zola Kidd, Roberta Bunton, and Drucilla Carter. He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers and 4 sisters.
