Mrs. Rena Barton Is Claimed by Death; to Be Buried Today
Last Sunday the death angel visited this city and called to the great beyond Mrs. Rena Barton, well known resident of this city.
Deceased came to Grass Valley about eight years ago and made her home on Race street in a cottage adjoining the Reliance Hose House and had resided there since that time. She had a large circle of friends here who will be pained to learn of her death. It was only a short time ago that she was stricken ill and was removed to the Jones Hospital for treatment, but owing to her advancing years her system could not stand the strain and death ensued. Deceased was aged 76 years at the time of her death. She leaves no immediate family to mourn her loss, but Mrs. Ida Siedman of Murphy street is a cousin of the deceased and cared for her in her declining days.
Arrangements for the funeral have been made and the funeral will take place this afternoon at three o’clock when religious services will be conducted at the Harris Mortuary Parlors with Rev. David Ralston officiating. Interment will be made in Greenwood cemetery.
