Laquietta Joy Like, 71 of Elgin, died Dec 29 at her home. A private graveside service will be at th Elgin Cemetery with Bill Moses of the Church of Christ offieiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels Chapel of the Valley.
Mrs. Like was born Nov 26, 1933, to Andrew Jackson and Viola Freeze Campo in Oklahoma City. She grew up in Texas and in December of 1959 she married Darrell Like in Houston. The couple lived in California and Washington before settling in the Grande Ronde Valley in 2000 She worked at the Rainier State School of Washington as a duty officer for 20 years until her retirement in 1999.
She was a member of Church of Christ, and enjoyed bingo, visiting with family and friends, shopping and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Surivors include her husband of Elgin; children and their spouses, Audy Darren Like, Richard Like and Gina Matte, all of Elgin, Roger and Lisa Like of Graham, Wash., Traci Miller of Tacoma, Wash., and Debra and Brenda Beesinger, both of Lubbok, Texas., 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Christeen Deal and Sherry Wise of Elgin; brothers Neil Campo of Elgin and Corgian Campo of La Grande; and other relatives. Two sisters, Jannette Pease and Charlene Board, and two brother, A.J. Campo and Darrel Campo, all died earlier.
