Mrs. Eliza Carothers, 71 years of age, died about 5 o'clock Sunday evening at Union Hospital in Terre Haute after a long illness. She was born near Cleone and had been living with her son, Carl, in Cumberland.
She leaves, in addition to her son, a granddaughter, Mrs. Kay S(wim), of Casey; two brothers, Ira Baker of California and John Baker of North Dakota, and a sister, Mrs. Barney Smith of Casey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, who died in 1930, and a daughter who died in infancy.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today in the Markwell Funeral Home with Rev. Hugh Smith officiating. Interment will be in the Casey cemetery.
