Hazelton Spencer, St. Alban the Martyr UEL Memorial Church, United Empire Loyalist Association of Canada, states that Spencer died at his home in Fredericksburg in February 1813, and was buried there in the Spencer plot, as was his wife, Margaret Richards, whom he married in 1787.

OntarioPlaques.com states that a historical plaque commemorating Hazelton Spencer has been placed in the 9300 block of Highway 33 (Loyalist Parkway), approximately 3 km west of Conway, Town of Greater Napanee, Lennox & Addington County, Ontario, CA., on the south (Bay of Quinte) side of the road.
