SAKMAR – Helen, 90, of Johnstown passed away October 4, 2016, at the Memorial Medical Center. Born August 21, 1926, in Johnstown, daughter of John and Mary (Sroka) Dubay. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Joseph Sakmar; brother, Steve Dubay and sister, Anna Burnheimer. Survived by son, Joseph John Sakmar married to former Linda Durfee, of Mount Lebanon PA; grandchildren, Ryan, married to Kelly (Cusick) of Schwenksville PA; Ashley, married to Matt Nahmias of Boston MA; Taylor, of Monterey, CA; Miller, of Seattle WA; Welles and Connor of Madison, CT, as well as, two beautiful great granddaughters, Ella Sakmar and Sienna Nahmias. Sister of Mary Herman, Margaret Symon, Delores Allison, all of Johnstown and Michael Dubay of Alabama. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Last employed at the Cambria County Public Library, she thoroughly enjoyed her last working years in the Children’s Department of the library. Friends will be received from 2 -4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, Inc., 710 Broad St. where Parastas will be sung at 7 p.m. A brief prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home followed by funeral Liturgy at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Monsignor Raymond Balta.
