A strong, self-sufficient woman, and retiree of South Central Bell Telephone Co., she enjoyed sewing, cooking, travelling, and visiting with family.
Surviving her are her sons, John "Jack" McCarroll (Patricia), James "Jim" McCarroll (Betty), and daughter, Judith "Diane" Belanger (Donald) and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Olympe and Henry Bell; her brothers, William Bell, Gilbert Bell, and Edward Bell; and her sisters, Pauline Amerland, Hilda Poche, Hazel Strickland, and Nita McCarroll.
Visitation at St. Alphonsus Ligouri Church, 14040 Greenwell Springs Rd., will be on Friday, October 28, 2016 from 9:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am celebrated by Reverend Mike Maroney. Private interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Metairie.
