Donnie Whitmire Cothran Lazar, 86, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 24, 2016.
A native of Spartanburg County, daughter of the late Kile A. and Essie Gravley Whitmire, she was a retired employee of Advantica and a charter member of Covenant Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband of 43 years, William P. Lazar of the home; two sons, Mike Cothran (Joanne) and Ricky Cothran (Rhonda) all of Spartanburg; a step-daughter, Altonia “Dimples” Howell of Greer; a sister-in-law, Betty Whitmire of Spartanburg; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Lazar was predeceased by her first husband, Carl W. Cothran and three brothers, Gane A. Whitmire, L.C. Whitmire and Glenn H. Whitmire.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Covenant Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Gary Hensley. Burial will follow in Wood Memorial Park.
Honorary escort will be the Joy Sunday School Class.
Visitation will be held 6:00-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at The Wood Mortuary and 12:45-1:45 p.m. Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Covenant Baptist Church.
