Church Services for Danny are scheduled for Thursday, 2pm, October 27, 2016, at the Lone Wolf Church of Christ. Interment will follow at Arrowhead "A" Cemetery, Lone Wolf. Viewing for Danny will begin Wednesday at 11am-8pm Wednesday evening October 26, 2016.

Danny Ray Anderson was born April 5, 1947, in Hobart, Ok, to Donald L Anderson and Minnie Isbell Anderson. He passed away October 22, 2016, in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma. He grew up in Lone Wolf and Farmington, New Mexico.

He graduated from Farmington High School in 1965 then attended college at New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, New Mexico. He received a Bachelor's degree in Biology in 1969.

He married Opal Diane Cole on May 28, 1971, at Tipton church of Christ. They were happily married for 45 years and 5 months. Everyone knew how much he loved and cherished Diane.

Together they have three children; Stephen Ray, Amy Rachele, and Amanda Kaye; ten grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. His job carried the family from Hobart, Oklahoma to Denver, Colorado to Paoli, Randlett, Marlow, Apache, and McAlester, Oklahoma; El Campo, College Station, and Rockdale, Texas; Bartlesville, and finally Ada, Oklahoma.

Danny looked at every move as an opportunity to serve in different places. The many friends he met along the way held a special place in his heart as he did in theirs.
He spent nine years in education including seven at Big Pasture Schools. He taught junior high and high school sciences.

In 1981, he left the field of education to go to work in the oil field. He was a mud engineer for 26 years in Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Wyoming, and the Gulf of Mexico. He loved his job and enjoyed watching all the new technologies advance.

He was always a teacher and scientist. He changed his focus from out in the field to the lab in 2007 when he went to work for Chevron Phillips Chemical Company. He was part of the research and development department and invented two new products for drilling fluids that are used worldwide. Teaching mud school in the lab and its success was one of his proudest accomplishments.

However, his greatest accomplishments can only be seen in the lives he touched in his lifetime. He loved God, Diane, his family and the church. He enjoyed a day of fishing and a season of hunting. He was a lifetime member of the NRA. He never went anywhere without a book; and he proudly carried the biggest bible in the whole wide world. It was filled with notes, prayers, and instructions.

He was a leader with a servant's heart. Danny accepted you for who you were, no matter where you were. He was easy to love and loved easily.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Anderson and Minnie Waller; and his brother, Russell Anderson.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Anderson, of the home in Ada; son, Stephen Anderson and his wife Carie of Navasota, Texas; daughters, Amy and her husband Rob Schlup of Ada, Oklahoma; and Amanda and her husband, James Morton of McKinney, Texas. Also, grandchildren: Caleb, Shai, Jimmy, Colby, Gavin, Rylan, Megan, Jaebeth, Kyndal, and Bethany; and great-grandchildren: Nicholas, Brantley, and LeeAnn. He is also survived by a sister, Lisa Pierce of Duncan, OK and brother, DL Anderson of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Goodness of God Orphanage in Port Au Prince, Haiti; or Hope Harbor in Claremore, OK.
