Obituary
------------------------
Eugene Ray Aue
March 20, 1944 - October 12, 2016
Gene was born on March 20, 1944 in Merced, California to Leonard and Marie Aue and he passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on October 12, 2016. He was a loving Husband, Father, Brother, Papa, Uncle, and Friend. He grew up in Merced and attended local schools. Gene served his Country as a member of the National Guard for six years.
After high school, Gene worked as a welder for Kirby Manufacturing. Later on, Gene went to work at the family owned business, Triple A Dairy, where he worked for over 50 years. His love was farming and building and fabricating equipment.
Gene met the love of his life, Julie Lynn Turner, in 1966 where their first date was at the Eastside Church of Christ. After dating for two years, they were married on April 5, 1968. From their marriage, Gene and Lynn had three children, Charice, Doug, and Michelle.
In Gene's younger days, he enjoyed drag racing, where he built a drag car named the "Rat Pack" for his brother Dennis to race. Gene was an active member of the Merced Valve Burners where he enjoyed going to hot rod car shows. Gene also enjoyed camping, fishing, boating, and going to Monterey with his family.
Gene shared his love for the Lord with everyone he came in contact with. He was raised in the church and was a member of the Atwater First Church of the Nazarene where he was an active board member and enjoyed greeting everyone who came through the doors. He always had a smile on his face and made everyone feel welcomed. Gene enjoyed serving the Lord even during his final days. Family was very important to Gene. His grandchildren were the light of his life and they all are very proud to call him their Papa!
Gene is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Marie, and his granddaughter, Lois. Gene is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Lynn Aue, his children Charice Villanueva (Mike), Doug Aue (Kelley), and Michelle Pullin (Matt), his grandchildren Ashley, Brittany, Stormy, Justin, Savannah, Hunter, Faith, and Landon, his brothers Gordon (Linda) and Dennis (Patt), his Sister Audrey, and his brother-in-law Terry (Carol), and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his loving church family and many friends. His kind, loving spirit and fun sense of humor will be deeply missed by all.
A celebration of life service will be held at the Atwater First Church of the Nazarene in Atwater, CA, on Tuesday, October 18 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made in honor of Gene to the Atwater First Church of the Nazarene or Community Hospice.
