After her children were grown, she worked with her husband in their local business, Davis Paint and Wallpaper Store, until their retirement in 1985. After her retirement, she enjoyed working and continuing to make new friendships while employed with Shells Dress Shop.
Mary greatly enjoyed her church, being a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church from the early 1960's until declining health in 2011 no longer allowed her to attend services. She enjoyed the Sunday socials and was well known for her delicious chocolate pies.
Preceded in death by her parents, William and Myrtle; husband, Carlas; one sister, Maxine Bray; brothers, Walter, Harold, Jimmy and Clinton Fawcett and one baby brother, Albert, that died shortly after birth.
