Robbinsville - Rena Orr Phillips, 85, of Robbinsville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 14, 2006, at Britthaven Care Center.

She was a native of Graham County, the daughter of James David and Dixie Ann Millsaps Orr. Rena was the last surviving member of the Orr family and, in addition to her parents and siblings, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Phillips in 2002; son-in-law, Hall Jenkins in 2006; and two greatgreat-grandchildren, MyKala Cable and Jace Jenkins.

Rena was a very active member of New Hope Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for several years. She was also very active with Broyhill Children's Home. Rena touched many lives of many people through the years, but none more than her family. A good Christian lives a good life. A great Christian leaves a legacy. What a legacy Rena Phillips left behind.

She is survived by her son and his wife, Gerald and Nellie Phillips of Robbinsville; daughters and their husbands, Eloise Jenkins, Twalla and Charles Stiles, all of Robbinsville, and Priscilla and Kenneth Cope of Andrews. She had eight grandchildren, David Hall Jenkins, Renee Adams, Eric Phillips, Charla Buchanan, Jackie Smith, Kristy Jordan, Mitzie Hardin and Lindsey Cope; 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at New Hope Baptist Church. The Revs. Tommy Hooper, Jack Millsaps, Ralph Patton and Lewis Smith of the Broyhill Children's Home will officiate.

The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the church.

The committal service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at New Hope Cemetery.
