Graveside services for Charles William McNary, of Kilgore, TX, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 14, 2016 at Sheffield Cemetery with Rev. Perfit Atkins officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Victory Funeral Services.
Charles was born the third child of Will and Willie Mae McNary on Sunday, January 16, 1949 in Kilgore, Texas. He departed this life on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at his residence in Kilgore, Texas.
Early in life he united with El Bethel Baptist Church in Overton, Texas.
He attended North Chapel High School in Kilgore, Texas where he graduated with Honors in 1967. He completed two years at Kilgore Junior College. After relocating to Los Angeles, California he continued his studies at California State University. Later he attended the Los Angeles Sheriff Academy and became a Deputy Sheriff. Prior to returning to Kilgore to tend to his mother he also worked for his brother at J& E Liquors for several years. Upon returning to Texas he worked for Trane Company in Tyler and Walmart in the Automotive Division in Kilgore.
Charles loved race cars and was a member of a car club in Los Angeles. He also loved going to the firing range, karate and watching his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys.
He was joined in holy matrimony in 1972 and to this union one child, was born in 1976.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, John Robert Allen and Emmitt Allen.
He leaves to cherish his memory to his son, wife, a daughter, two granddaughters, two grandsons, a sister-in-law, a nephew, a devoted cousin and many other relatives and friends.
There will be no public viewing.
