Franklin Hutson, 95, of Lexington, IL died at 2:54 a.m. Friday, October 21, 2016 at Heritage Health in Normal.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church, Lexington, IL with Rev. Garry Gromley officiating. Burial will follow at Lexington cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Calvert-Johnson & Musselman Memorial Home in Lexington is assisting the family with services. Memorials may be made to the church or to a charity of the donor’s choice
Franklin was born October 29, 1920 in Cooksville, IL the son of Frank and Plumah Sackett Hutson. He married Rosanna M. Haworth on October 23, 1937 in Lexington. She died April 17, 2013.
Surviving are eight children Marilyn (Melvin) Gillan and Larry (Carolyn) Hutson both of Bloomington, William Hutson and Lynn (Mary Lou) Hutson both of Normal, Rick Hutson of Towanda, Kevin Hutson of Elgin, Cheryl (Dennis) Weber of Lexington, and Jan (Steve) Brown of Heyworth; eleven grandchildren; and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; one brother Marion Hutson of Normal and one sister Zelia Kemp of Bloomington.
He was preceded in death by one son Douglass, one daughter Marsha and six brothers.
Franklin was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lexington and an original member of the Old Codger’s in Lexington and the El Paso Masonic Lodge # 246. He was a lifelong farmer in the Lexington, Colfax, and Towanda area. His joys of life were family, friends, farming, and sports.
