A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 15 at First Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Rebecca Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Browerville.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
Gilman Alverson was born April 6, 1931 in Hatton, North Dakota to Gilbert and Clara (Paulson) Alverson. Gil served in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. After being honorably discharged in 1958, Gil moved to Minneapolis where he met and married Joyce Robinson. Gil worked in merchandising and sales and owned and operated Merpri Incorporated. Gil was a member of First Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre.
