Mrs. Simerly was originally a resident of Maryville, Tennessee. Mrs. Simerly worked for the Wal-Mart Corporation in Scottsboro, Alabama, for 18 years as their door greeter.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandy (Sam) Barrett of Dutton, AL; son, Clay Simerly Jr. of Dutton, AL; grandsons, Robert Barrett of Dutton, AL, and Mark (Kaarina) Barrett of Nashville, TN; granddaughters, Sherry (Alvin) Peak and Linda (Scott) Webb, both of Maryville; great-grandchildren, Jon Simerly, Matthew Webb, Todd Peak, Autumn Barrett, Dillon Barrett.; great-great-grandchildren, Ava Josephine Barrett, Samuel Yeshua Barrett; brother-in-law, James “Toots” (Lena) Simerly, of Maryville; sister-in-law, Jo Simerly of Maryville, and a host of nieces and nephews.
There will be a graveside service at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct 25, 2016, at Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Alcoa, TN, with her son-in-law, Sam Barrett, officiating.
