Erin Jean Maria Spanevello-

She was a Canadian fashion model active in the late 2000s before dying from a drug overdose at the age of 21. Born of Austrian and Italian descent in British Columbia, she began modeling part-time and signed with four modeling agencies including Paris' NEXT Model Management and New York's IMG Models. She modeled in advertisements for AlekWek 1933, West Edmonton Mall, Cuche and FloSport, and walked for several brands including Sports Club LA. On May 28, 2008, Spanevello fell into an irreversible coma after taking ecstasy and GHB, dying from cardiac and respiratory failure induced by a lethal dose of the synthetic drugs. She was 21 years old. After her death, her story was featured as the main subject in an anti-drug campaign by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

You found your Angel wings and have left us all too soon. With a heart of gold and generous spirit you had a smile that would light up any room. We will all miss your beauty and vibrant personality. Erin is survived by loving parents, Artur Spanevello and Catherine Spanevello (Doug Johnson), family: John Adam Lucas (Johanna), Gisela, Denise (Alexa), Nicole (Julien), Meredith, John George Lucas (Annette and family), Susan Herman (Craig), Rudi, Helga, Olivia, Leon, her boyfriend Henry, best friend Renee and all who knew and loved her. A Funeral Service to celebrate Erin's life will be held at St. David's United Church, 1525 Taylor Way, West Vancouver, BC on Thursday, June 5th, 2008 at 1:00 pm. Private cremation will follow. In honour of Erin's spirit, please wear white. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to ORFUND.
