Billy Frank Barbre, 85, of Liberty passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at The Loflin Funeral Home Chapel, Liberty; burial will follow in Bethany United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday following the funeral service at the Bethany United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. Mr. Barbre will lie in repose in the chapel one hour prior to the service.
Billy is the son of the late Charlie Fenton and Ethel Marie Whitmire Barbre and was also preceded in death by one sister, Lida C. Mejia and four brothers, Edwin "Ted" Barbre, Jimmy Ray Barbre, Buddy L. Barbre and Doyle Fenton Barbre.
Surviving is his wife of 65 years, Lou Gertie Caviness Barbre and two daughters, Debbie B. Elmore and her husband, Ritchie of Staley and Sharon B. Fogleman and her husband, Tony of Burlington; sister, Mary Ann Routh of Georgia; grandchildren, Lisa A. Spengler, April L. York and Jonathan H. Elmore and great-grandchildren, Justin T. Norris, Summer D. York, Jaylen C. Gales, Parris L. Patterson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church, 6151 Bethany Way, Staley, NC 27355.
