Ronnie Ray Sleep was born August 2, 1948, the son of Dale H. Sleep and Vera Blanche (Murray) Sleep at the St. Francis Hospital in Maryville, Missouri. Ronnie grew up on a farm in Taylor County, southwest of Bedford. He loved to watch professional wrestling on Monday nights. He loved music and dancing. He also enjoyed being the 'center of attention' at parties. He was always loving with his family and cared for all those around him. Ronnie enjoyed being around his family, especially for birthdays and Christmas time. Ronnie was also a devoted Iowa Hawkeye fan.
Left to cherish Ronnie's memory are his three brothers and two sisters, Wilbur Sleep and wife Joyce of Bedford; Robert Sleep and wife Mary Jo of Bedford; Johnny Sleep of Gravity; Betty Miller and husband John of Maryville, Missouri; Karen Tisue of Omaha, Nebraska; sister-in-laws Barbara Sleep and Dorothy Sleep; along with many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
