Caroline Emily Aanensen passed away on the 11th of September 1951 at Silverstream Hospital, Lower Hutt, New Zealand, and as per her wishes she was buried in a plain wood coffin beside her husband in the Mangatainoka Cemetery.

Caroline's Will bequeathed her estate to the New Zealand Presbyterian Church Missions Committee and the St David's Presbyterian Church at Woodville, alongwith the choice of an article of furniture or jewellery that she left to her friend Nona Margaret Burnett of Woodville.
