Earl B. Wise, 92, of Clarksville died Friday, Dec. 11, 1998, at AMI St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.

A native of Clarksville, he was a son of the late William Presley and Mary Mason Wise, and was preceded in death by his wife, Virgie Mae Bohannon Wise. He was a retired coal miner, a member of the Clarksville First Assembly of God Church and a deacon in the church for 27 years.

He is survived by three daughters, Earlene Lipsey of La Mirada, Calif., Karlene Hawkins of Russellville, and Denise Nichols of Lamar; one son, Lindell Wise of Clarksville; one sister, Jewel Taylor of Clarksville; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral was at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15, at the Clarksville First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Dade Kindrix and Rev. David Reddick officiating.

Burial was in Oakland Cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers were Carl Williams, Levi Willis, Calvin Warren, Herb Phillips, Bob Fuller, and Wesley Kendrick.

Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Leavell, Earl Childers, and John Mefford.
