Lorna Marie Lehner, a resident of Chapman Valley Manor, Chapman, KS passed away on Friday, September 30, 2016 at the age of 91
Lorna Marie (Albrecht) Lehner was born on June 14, 1925 in Herington, KS to Fred P. Albrecht and Dora (Lawrenz) Albrecht.
She graduated from Hope High School in 1943. Out of high school Lorna began working for Beech Aircraft in Wichita, and Herington, KS. In later years, she worked at Ft. Riley where she had a long career in Civil Service.
Lorna married Clarence David Lehner on June 29, 1963 in Herington, KS They moved to Chapman, KS in 1991. Lorna was a self-taught pianist and organist. She began playing in Lutheran Churches at the age of 12. She had a passion for music and especially loved to sing. She sang in church choirs for many years.
Lorna was a member of the Lutheran's Women's Mission League, Lutheran Layman's League, Immanuel Lutheran Church Choir, and the Association of Retired Federal Employees.
Lorna is survived by her husband Clarence of Chapman, KS, daughters; Marjean Harris of Moundridge, KS, Lori (Ryan) Jensen of Topeka, KS, son; Werner (Kate) Lehner of Montrose, CO, nine grandchildren, and five great- grandchildren, sister; Ella Mae Shilling of Westphilia, KS, and Orena Young of Centennial, CO.
Funeral Services are scheduled for Friday, October 7, 2016 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Junction City, KS at 10:30 A.M. Visitation will be at 9:30 A.M. prior to the service. Pastor Alan Estby will officiate.
Memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Junction City, KS., Chapman Valley Manor, or Alzheimer's Association. Memorials may be sent in care of the Londeen Funeral Chapel, Box 429, Chapman, KS 67431.
