Wilkes-Barre Evening News; Saturday, October 25, 1919:
Complications incident to her advanced age caused the death yesterday of Mrs. Elizabeth A. Coxe, at her home, Windy Hill, Drifton. She had been critically ill for the past four years. Brights disease contributed to her death as it was this aliment that made her condition critical.

Mrs. Coxe was 76 years of age. She was born in Philadelphia, a daughter of Charles Sinkler, of South Carolina and Emily Wharton Sinkler, of Philadelphia. In 1870 she married Major Charles Brinton Coxe, of the family of coal operators owning extensive coal lands in the lower end of the county. He died three years after the marriage. A son, Eckley B. Coxe, Jr., late of Drifton, resulted from the marriage. He died in 1916. One brother and two sisters survive Mrs. Coxe. Mrs. Coxe maintained two homes, Windy Hill at Drifton, and a city residence at 1604 Locust street, Philadelphia.
