William “Bill” McKinley Dillion, age 66, of Marysville, died early Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at his home. He was a tool and die maker by trade for many years. Known for his creative talents, he was an accomplished artist. He enjoyed painting, sculpting, drawing and illustrating. He also liked to write music and played the guitar, especially classic rock. A true patriot, he volunteered and served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Compassionate to animals, he especially liked cats and was protective of strays and the injured. He was born May 29, 1950 in Springfield, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Dillion; his mother, Joanne Turner McAfee; his step-father, James Arnold; his aunt, Jeannie Price; a granddaughter, Alyssa Peake; and two nephews, James Arnold and Anthony Murphy. He is survived by two daughters, Heather (David) Herier of Springfield and Jessyca (Scott) Peake of North Lewisburg; his son, Joshua (Heather Daugherty) Dillion of Marysville; five grandchildren, Myranda, Jonathan, Mary, DJ and Tabitha; three great-grandchildren Hayden, Elliana and Adeliah; his brothers and sisters, Robert (Lizzie) Dillion, Beverly (Richard) Murphy, Teiga (Don) Burden, Yvonne (John) Cauley, Yvette (Steve) Wenger and David (Sheila) Arnold; an aunt, Judy Raines; and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and other relatives. The family will receive friends 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Underwood Funeral Home in Marysville where funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Fr. Joseph John Trapp, II will officiate. Interment will be at York Township Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Union County Military Funeral Honor Guard.
