Here lie the Rev. and Dr. John Crampton Harris born Sept. 10, 1773 and died Sept. 9, 1842, the son of Benjamin Harris III and Jane Crampton; and his beloved wife, Sarah Anne Harrison Regan, born Oct. 19, 1781 and died 1878, the daughter of Jeremiah Reagan and Abigail Harrison. J. C. Harris was a direct descendant of Capt. Thomas Harris, a member of the original Virginia Company, who was the son of Sir William Harris of Crisxe, Essex, England. Abigail Harrison was the direct descendant of Isaiah Harrison who came to Oyster Bay, Long Island, from Ireland in 1687. This memorial is placed here with love, by their great, great, great grandsons: John Edward Helms III, Rev. William O'keefe Helms, and Dr. Crampton Harris Helms, Nov. 30, 1996.
