Richard B. Dreyer, age 79, of Alden, formerly of Tonawanda, died Monday, May 5, 2003, at Hospice Buffalo in Cheektowaga. Born June 4, 1923, in Tonawanda, he was the son of the late Eugene and Josephine (nee Byrd) Dreyer and was a lifelong resident of Tonawanda. An Army Air Force veteran of World War II, he was a teacher in the Newfane School District, before retiring, and was the husband of the late Marilyn P. Dreyer, who died in 1994.


He is survived by a daughter, Candice (Craig) Pawlewski; two sons, William (Roeann) Dreyer and Scott (Lisa) Dreyer; and a sister, Mary. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.


Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 PM Wednesday at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:45 AM Thursday at St. Timothy R.C. Church on East Park Drive in the Town of Tonawanda. Friends invited. Interment will be cared for privately at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
