FT. WALTON BEACH, FL -Rolland G. Hull, age 74, passed from our care to God's on Tuesday, May 10, 2005, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.

Rollo was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on May 24, 1930, raised by his mother and uncles after his father died suddenly before he was born.

Rollo graduated High School in 1948 from Burton, OH, where he was very active in sports and then to Ohio University on an athletic scholarship. He had met his future wife after graduation from high school and she followed him the next year to college and finally snagged him. They married September 9, 1950 and he really settled down - no girls to chase - and graduated cum laude with a Degree in Education, and minor in both Math and English. He also was honored by Kappa Delta Pi, graduated cum laude, was a member of Arnold Air Society and received one of two distinguished military graduate awards and was commissioned a second lieutenant in the regular Air Force. He accomplished all this with a wife and small son at his side. He finished his education by achieving his master's degree in Business Administration.

Rolland served his country from 1952 - 1982. His distinguished career included: graduate of Air Force Staff College, Command and Staff by correspondence and Management Program for Executives, U. of Pittsburgh, PA, was certified in the B-26, B57, B66, RB66, RF4, T33 and L20. Of the many responsibilities, he was the Chief of In-Country Recon in VN, Sq Comm. of RF4 aircraft at Kadena, Okinawa, Wing Commander at Shaw AFB, SC and Dept IG for TAC at Langley AFB. He retired from TAWC at Eglin and became the administrator at Trinity UMC in 1983 and again in 98-02.

Rollo enjoyed playing racquetball and golf, riding horses with his family in Colorado. But his favorite pastime was time with his wife, Shirley, of 54+ years, his four own children and their much loved spouses, 11 loving grandchildren, two married with special spouses and one special red-headed great-grandson.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; son, David and Terri of Cleveland, OH; and daughters, Debra and Dennis Craig of Canton, GA, Diane and Matt Dillon of Lilburn, GA and Deena and Randy Armstrong of Craig, CO.

A son, Douglas and mother, Katheryn Hull of Burton and Mr. & Mrs. Clair Calaway of Jefferson pre-deceased him.

Services, with Military Honors, are Saturday, May 14, 2005, at 2 p.m. at Trinity UMC followed by reception in MFH. Services will be held at a later date in Jefferson, Ohio.
