Benjamin was enlisted in Civil War twice and was admitted for one and half month at the hospital for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers in Dayton, Ohio.

First enlistment was in Boonville on 20 Sept 1861, Company K, Regiment 42 Indiana Volunteers and got discharged on 25 July 1862 at Huntsville, Alabama, due to general disability caused by measles. Contracted and received on 1 February 1862 in Calhoun, Kentucky.
Second re-enlistment was also in Boonville on 2 December 1863, Company E, Regiment 120 Indiana Volunteers and got discharged on 3 June 1865 at Louisville, Kentucky, by General Order No 27.
Domestic History: Born in Indiana, Age 33, Residence Subsequent to Discharge Boonville, Occupation Farmer, Social Condition - Married 2 child Wife Laura.

Married to Laura Campbell on 1 September 1874 and had two daughters, Gracie and Liyia, according to the 1880 Census.

(2) John W Lowe 5 June 1884 Warrick.
(3) Frank William Cohoon 22 Apr 1895 Warrick

Most likely he died in the year of 1883 or 1884.
Apparently there is no record of headstone set up for Benjamin.
