JAMES C. BLANKENSHIP
James Carl Blankenship, a 42-year resident of San Rafael, died Tuesday in a local hospital after a short illness. He was 69.
A native of Prairie Grove, Ark., Blankenship came to California in 1936. He was employed by the Pacific Gas and Electric Co. for 29 years, last working as a painter foreman.
He was a member of Painters Union 1045 in San Francisco and a deacon at the First Baptist Church of San Rafael.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Corda Blankenship of San Rafael; a daughter, Mary Lou Delk of Petaluma; a son, J. C. Blankenship of Novato; a brother, Ralph Blankenship of Tucson, Ariz.; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of San Rafael. Burial will be at Mount Tamalpais Cemetery, San Rafael.
Friends may call at Williams and Heffernan Mortuary in San Rafael from 5 p.m. today until 9 p.m. Thursday.
