Salls, Howard H., 88, of Greensboro, died April 27. Born in 1911 in Hardwick, he was the son of Edward and Lena Burbank Salls. He attended Greensboro public schools. In 1935, he married Ruth Evelyn Coolbeth. He had managed dairy farms in Massachusetts and Greensboro and later was employed by the town of Greensboro. He was a past member and chief of Greensboro Fire Department. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Patricia Ann Hislop and Jennie Spradlin; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers; two sisters; nieces, nephews and cousins.
