ROBERT CHARLES THOMASON, 76, of Lawton, died Wednesday, December 20, 2006, in Lawton.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at University Church of Christ, with Mike Bentley, minister, University Church of Christ, and Weldon Flanagan, retired minister, officiating.
Burial will be in Highland Cemetery under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home.
He was born December 22, 1929 in Lawton to Samuel Edgar and Lillian Mae Weaver Thomason. He graduated second in the class of 1947 at Geronimo High School. He received an Associates degree from Cameron State Agricultural College. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was employed as a Letter Carrier with the U.S. Postal Service until his retirement. He was a member of the Local Letter Carrier Union and was a past president.
He married Phyllis Jean Curry in Lawton on May 27, 1951. She died on December 15, 1998. He married Carmelita Maxine Thedford on October 9, 1999. He was a member of University Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife of the home; five children, Larry and Martha Thomason of Yukon, Judy and Rick Anderson of Ponca City, Pam and Pat Parkin of Ottawa, Kan., Charles Thomason of Yukon, and Phillip and Lana Thomason of Lone Wolf; a brother, Wayne and Zelpha Thomason of Whitney, Texas; 11 grandchildren, Jared and his wife Leslie Thomason of Norman, Brandon Thomason of Waxahachie, Texas, Channan Thomason of Bedford, Texas, Heath and his wife Rachel Parkin of Ottawa, Kan., Micah Thomason of Yukon, Derek and his wife Sarah Thomason of Searcy, Ark., Heather Marie Parkin of Manhattan, Kan., Kristin Anderson of Ponca City, and Luke, Sydney and Savannah Thomason, all of Lone Wolf; a great-grandchild, Parker Case of Ponca City; two stepchildren, Jeffrey and his wife Shawn Stabler of Lawton, and Ginny and her husband Toyse Woody of Fort Worth, Texas; four step-grandchildren, Melody Bernheiser, Ashley Woody, Kim and her husband Randy Mathis, and Shane Woody; and a step-great-grandchild, Alyssa Bernheiser.
His parents, first wife, two brothers, Carrol and Myron Thomason, and a son, Gary Robert Thomason, preceded him in death.
