Lewis Ray Burnett, 68, of Liberty, MO, passed away December 5, 2011 at NorthCare Hospice House. Lewis was born November 27, 1943 in Kansas City, MO, the son of Jewell T. and Neva (Blacketer) Burnett. Along with his parents, Louie was preceded in death by brothers, Harold, Tommy and Kenny Burnett. Louie's career with Ford Motor Company spanned 30 years before retirement in 1995. He was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church, the UAW Local 249, Liberty Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Bodies and Ararat Shrine Temple. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Cindy (Woods) Burnett; daughters, Shelia Burnett and Laura Burnett; grandson, Joshua Lewis Burnett (wife Chastitey); great grandson, Braiden Lewis Burnett; brothers, Richard Frye, Robert Burnett (wife Janice); sisters, Virginia Funk, Shirley Ross, Marilyn Fennewald; sisters-in-law, Yvonne Burnett, Joyce Burnett, Leslyn Farmer (husband Scott), Becky Warren (husband Tony); and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm, followed by a service celebrating Louie's life at 2:00 pm, on Saturday, December 10, at Liberty United Methodist Church, 1001 Sunset, Liberty. Interment will follow in South Point Cemetery, Orrick, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Liberty United Methodist Church, NorthCare Hospice House, Liberty TreeHouse, the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, or to a charity of the donor's choice .
