Frances E. Adams, 94, of Monticello passed away at 12:55 a.m. Thursday (Oct. 13, 2016), surrounded by family at Kirby Medical Center in Monticello.

Frances was born to Lloyd Craw and Gussie (Wall) Craw on Nov. 3, 1921 in her parents' home in Cerro Gordo. Frances graduated from Cerro Gordo High School in 1940 - working alongside her parents in the Victory Cafe during her teen years.

Frances worked in the Hoodaille-Hershey plant in Decatur during the war years and as a valued cook at the Bement schools for 24 years, retiring in 1984.

Frances married Hamman Junior "Jib" Adams on Jan. 18, 1942 in Old Monroe, Missouri. He survives. Also surviving are her three children, Jon (Joanne) Adams, Sheila (Ken) Purcell and Geni (John) Heider; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and three sisters.

Frances enjoyed flowers, gardening, cross-stitch and cheering for the Cubs. She was an excellent cook and her baking skills were supreme; delicious pies made affectionately for family and friends will be missed.

Frances' greatest pleasure was spending time with family and friends; her greatest gift was the love she so unconditionally gave to all.
