Evelyn Schutt, 81 of Shelton passed away Friday October 14, 2016 at CHI Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Funeral Services will be Monday October 17, 2016 at 10:30 AM at the Shelton United Methodist Church in Shelton with Pastor Markey Gray officiating. Interment will be at the Kearney Cemetery at 2:00 PM. Apfel Funeral Home is serving the family.
Evelyn was born on August 15, 1935 in Manassas, VA to Cecil and Helen (Beavers) Crouch. On November 1, 1954, she married Robert Schutt in Washington, D.C. After Robert was discharged from the service, they moved to Shelton, NE. Evelyn was a housewife and mother and also worked outside alongside Robert on the farm, where she lived most of her life, taking care of the livestock, gardens, and flowers. She also enjoyed her extension clubs.
Survivors include her special friend, Carol Dixon; sons, Robert “Bobby” Schutt Jr; and Kim Schutt; daughters, Debra Anderson; Roberta (Bill) Stevens; and Diane (Eugene) Wempen; grandchildren, Allen Anderson; Craig Schutt; Robert, Billy and John Stevens; Lori, Katie and JR Wempen; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty (Paul) Atwood of Ohio; and sister in law, Barbara Crouch of Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert in 2009; daughter, Donna Sielbener in 2008; brothers, Teddy, Gilbert, Alvin and Paul; and sisters, Dorothy and Hazel.
