Arthur J. Flexer, 62, of 594 West Maple street, died at 6 a, m. yesterday in Hahnemann Hospital, Philadelphia. He was ill a month and hospitalized 12 days.
He was a Lehigh Valley Railroad passenger conductor for 43 years.
Born in Quakake August 16, 1891, he was a son of the late Winebert and Mary (Bader) Flexer. He was a Hazleton resident for the past 18 years.
He was affiliated with the Salem Evangelical United Brethren church and was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen.
Surviving are his wife, the former Mary E. Wetterau; a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Radley, of this city; a son, Rev. Russell Flexer, of Tampa, Florida; five sisters, Clara, of Delano; Hilda, of Park Crest; Catherine, of Elberon, N. J.; Violet, of Pottsville; Helen, of Quakake; four brothers, George, of Lehighton; Howard, of Quakake; Stanley, of Niagara Falls, N. Y.; Lawrence, of Drums, and two grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 10 a. m. Friday from the Krapf and Hughes funeral home, 426 West Broad street, with Rev. M. S. Mumma in charge of services. Interment will be in Mt. Laurel cemetery.
Viewing will be on Thursday evening from 7 to 9:30 o'clock.
