Dale Mary Mann Mecham Winsor completed her courageous battle with Alzheimer's on October 12, 2016, at the age of 94. She was born Nov. 18, 1921, in Shelton, to Claude C. and Alice Mann, in the same house, bedroom, and bed that her father was born in. She attended Buck School District #1 through eighth grade, graduating from Ucon High School. In 1941 she married Deloy Mecham, who she met while playing piano at a dance. They resided in Ririe, then moved to the Firth area, where they farmed, operated a Grade A dairy, and owned Mecham Electrical and Plumbing. After Deloy died in 1981, she continued to run the 110-acre farm and 45 head of beef cattle for several years.

In 1987, she married Albert Winsor, the new dance partner she met at the Senior Center. They spent many wonderful hours dancing, traveling, playing pinochle, and enjoying life with family and friends. In 1993 she sold the family farm and they moved to Al's home in Goshen. Al passed away August 14, 2001.

Her love of music and the piano brought her much happiness throughout her life. She spent many hours playing for dances and sharing her talents with others. Dale created beautiful quilts for her Kids and Grandkids and made wonderful Rolls and Cinnamon Rolls. We miss those calls to pick up our pan to take home. She was known for her taco parties, especially the family Christmas parties complete with Santa bringing goodies for the children, and singing around the piano. She loved and cared deeply for her family, spending countless hours with Grandchildren, and making time to pass down her many skills.

She served on the Board of Directors for the Shelley Senior Citizens Center, served as President, was a past officer of AARPS, and spent many hours as a Volunteer.

She is survived by her children, Claude Mecham (Linda), Gene Mecham (Sharon), and Dixie Mecham Finck (Max), all of the Firth area; 8 Grandchildren, 22 Great-Grandchildren, and 24 Great, Great Grandchildren. Stepchildren: Jerry-Anne Hoyt, Kansas, Kathy Garner, (Dale), Idaho Falls, and Rebecca Anderson, Salmon; 7 Grandchildren, and 7 Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Deloy Mecham and Albert Winsor, parents, Claude C. & Mary Alice Mann, brothers Forrest Mann and Walter Mann, sister Edna Storer, Granddaughter Cindy Lee Mecham, Great, Great, Grandson Tade McClure, and Step Grandson Dewayne Hoyt.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 17, 2016 at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 p.m. and Monday morning from 9:30 till 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Basalt Cemetery.

The family wishes to extend our thanks to The Gables of Shelley and Hands of Hope Hospice for their many hours caring for Mother.
