Odbert Nelson “Bert” Davis, of Parkersburg, passed away at his home of 52 years on October 12, 2016. He was born on November 9, 1934 in Clay, WV and was the devoted seventh son of the late John and Maggie Shamblin Davis. He was retired from GE Plastics. Bert was an avid bowler and enjoyed “tinkering”. He looked forward every summer to camping and picking blueberries at Dolly Sods with his beloved wife and various family members. He was always eager to help his children and grandchildren with any project and nothing brought a smile to his face more than the “little ones” in the family.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Irene Happney Davis, daughter Karen (Bob) Lowry of Washington, son Roger (Julie) Davis of Parkersburg, grandchildren, James (Michelle) Fitcher, Mathew (Kristina) Davis, Bradley (Alisha) Davis, and Stephen Watkins all of Washington, WV, Elizabeth (Bill) Meadows of Vienna, WV and Christopher (Jessica) Davis of Parkersburg. He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Terrell, Brady and Aria Fitcher, Austin, Braxton and Wyatt Meadows, Lyla, Andrew, Hannah, Benjamin and Luke Davis and brothers, John (Betty) Neldon of Westminster, MD and Ralph (Linda) Davis of Clay, WV as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters and six brothers.

Bert was a quiet and humble man and it was his wish that there be no funeral services.
