Elaine A. Ebben, age 92, of Appleton, WI, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2015. Elaine was born on January 14, 1923, the loving daughter of Henrietta (Sanderfoot) and Cornelius Sweere.

Elaine married Albert J. Ebben on September 29, 1943, at 8:00 in the morning at Immaculate Conception Mission in Vans Valley. After, there was a breakfast at her parents’ house with an all day celebration with a sunset reception.

Al and Elaine lived in West DePere for the first three years of marriage and then moved to the Fox Valley Area. They were a member of St. Edward Catholic Church, of Mackville, for 57 years. Elaine was a very proud wife, homemaker, and mother. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, as well as traveling and embroidering.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Albert J. Ebben, the proud parents of Shirley (Len) Kurey, Black Creek; Rosalie (Jim) Wurl, Seymour; Theresa (Lloyd) Mastrodonato, Shawano; Ronald (Susan) Ebben, Black Creek; Gerald (Lisa) Ebben, Appleton; Marylee (Joe) Wickersheim, Appleton; 18 grandchildren, and 33 great-grandchildren. Three sisters: Patricia Murphy, Appleton; Evelyn Daul, Virginia; and Mary Pat Schiller, Green Bay. Elaine had many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Elaine was preceded in death by parents, Cornelius and Henrietta Sweere, brother, Orville H. Sweere, brother-in-law, Karl Daul, and many other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Elaine will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, July 25, 2015, at St. Edward Catholic Church, N2926 State Highway 47, Mackville, with Fr. Walter Stumpf officiating. A visitation will be held at the church on Friday beginning at 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 7:00. Visitation will continue at the church Saturday beginning at 9:30 A.M. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to American Cancer Society, 14 Tri Park Way #2, Appleton, WI, 54914.

Elaine’s family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff at Wisconsin King Veteran Home Olson Hall, ThedaCare Hospice, and to the King Honor Guard. Also, the Christian Mothers for helping with the luncheon.
