John was born November 07, 1948 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Jesse James Hedge and Betty Berger Jakubik. He was also preceded in death by his father Thomas Jefferson Hedge; brother-in-law, Clarence "Cotton" Bell.
John was a dedicated member of the First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Men. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during the Vietnam Conflict. He was retired from Alliant Tech with over 30 years service. He was a proud member of the High School Class of 1967.

Surviving- His wife- Melody Elkins Hedge-Pulaski, Sons- John Warren Hedge, Colorado Springs, Colorado, Trevor Vaughn Hedge, Pulaski, Step-son Rodney Brian Atkinson, Orting, Washington.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday 1 pm at the First United Methodist Church, Pulaski, with Rev. Hugh Kilgore officiating. Internment will follow at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Dublin, with full military honors conducted by the Pulaski VFW Post #1184.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5-7 pm at Bower Funeral Home, Pulaski.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in John's memory be sent to First United Methodist Church, 135 4th Street, N.W. Pulaski, Virginia 24301.
