I, Douglas Hyrum Dieu of South Ogden, returned to my Father in Heaven on September 29, 2016, at the age of 82. I was born on May 15, 1934 in Ogden, Utah to Gabriel and Ivy Williams Dieu. My older brothers Donald and Vernon, and my little sister Margaret completed my family.

I graduated from Ogden High, Weber State and BYU. I attended Juilliard School and NYU where I earned my MBA.

While I was in NYC I had the opportunity to work with many celebrities of stage and screen. I even played at Radio City Music Hall. I also worked at Lord and Taylor's. I learned the most while serving an LDS mission in Minnesota. I served in many callings in the church and was the ward organist for over 64 years.

I was employed for 13 years at Allied Stores Corporation as a manager of Bon Marche in Ogden, followed by 30 years at Weber County in Personnel and Payroll.

I loved sharing my talents volunteering hundreds of hours playing organ for weddings, funerals, and special events.
I loved working in my garden, boating, and traveling. I especially loved the Tetons. My Lord and my family are most important to me and I loved my nieces and nephews, Larry Coxey (Sirkka), Mike Evans (Myra), Kathy (Kitty) Killian (Brad), Annette Evans-McPartland (Tom), I adored my great nieces and nephews. I was also a loving father to my foster sons, Jason Filban, Phillip Laterza (Wendy), Dean Laterza (Kim) and Jon Dieu.

I lived my life for the Savior and am happy to return to him and my parents, siblings, nephew, Larry, son, Jon and Grandson, Judd who will greet me in Heaven.

A Viewing will be on Thursday, October 13, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Leavitt's Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah.
My Services will be held Friday, October 14, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Burch Creek Stake Center, 4955 Adams Ave., South Ogden, Utah. Friends may visit with the family prior to services from 9:30 to 10:30 am.

Interment at the Ogden City Cemetery, 1875 Monroe Blvd., Ogden, Utah.
