Olof was the 10th of 10 children of Bengt Jonsson and Hanna Persdotter.
In the 1920 census of Laketown Township, Allegan County, Michigan, it is reported that he immigrated to the United States in 1882.
He married to Hanna Swanson on June 13, 1889, in Chicago, Illinois.
Olof worked in the railroad yards in Chicago as a carpenter building Pullman cars. About 1902 he bought a subsistence fruit farm in Michigan. In the 1920's he came out to Pasadena, California, to be near his sons. He lived there until his death.
