James Elvis Connor was the son of Elvis Verdo Connor (1884-1961) and Charlotte Temple Craft (1888-1975). He married Margaret Frances Bowman 1 April 1950 in Chandler Lincoln Oklahoma.

James and Margaret had three children: Laura Louise Johnson (Henderson), Linda Sue Johnson (Alcorn) and James Elvis Connor III.

James served as a medic and film projectionist in WWII and was stationed in Germany and Holland.

James was an excellent carpenter and craftsman. He had a passion for fishing which he did as often as time would allow. He was a member of the Gospel Tabernacle in Bristow, Oklahoma.
