Jessie Nell Edenfield, 71, wife of Harmon Edenfield, died Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro.
Born in Lyons she was the daughter of Willard Eugene Edwards and Mavis Edwards. Mrs. Edenfield lived in Metter most of her life before moving to Augusta one year ago. She was the co-founder of Edenfield’s Restaurant that she owned since 1977 alongside her husband, Harmon Edenfield. She was recognized in the Atlanta Journal Constitution for having the “best fried chicken in the South”. She loved cooking, sewing, traveling, and playing games. Mrs. Edenfield was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Edwards and a sister Maxwell Edenfield.
Visitation will be held Monday from 5 until 7 o’clock at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 2 o’clock in the afternoon at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel with Rev. Burt Sappenfield officiating.
Interment will be in Cool Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will be accepting flowers, however, if you wish you may make donations to Ogeechee Area Hospice, P.O. Box 531, Statesboro, Georgia 30459.
